Reputation: 0 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | after much searching around Google, I found out that this board isnt the only 1 doing this. Many low-mid end Crossfire are in what they term as 'hard-wired' x8-x8 pcie, and only switchable to single x16 via the switch card. some lower end boards such as 1 from jetway even skipped on providing the switch card, forcing 1 unfortunate buyer to use his geforce gtx at x8 and not realising his board was the one at fault. my guess is such approach is cheaper than on-board circuit switch between x8 & x16? anyway, i am fine with it now. its not a critical issue now.
