this setup is currently used by Chris_X i think.

switch + 900EB2.

but if i'm not mistaken, unlike using a Router, 1 PC on the switch has to initiate the connection. and if the PC with the connection goes off, all connections go off as well.

peaz did mention that we can used WinXP to auto-dial. but i donno, if my WinXP dial that means my PC has to be ON to keep the connection, right?

currently on the router as our linksys, it will auto-dial on demand. the person who triggered the dial can go off without disrupting the connection.

nope... the pc DUN need to be kept on to maintain the connection.. someone juts need to initaite the modem to dial-up... that's all.

ahh ok. that's nice to hear.

but do you remember about the game communications/port forwarding issues you helped me on last night? that is not possible if using 900EB2 and Switch, isn't it?

i'm not sure... not sure whether u can forward ports or not on the 900eb2. I never went thru the telnet settings of the 900Eb2.... if i have the chance... maybe i'll go thru it and see...

but afaik... i dun think that's possible la....
