Default Laptop's network card gone nuts

After my router and modem was fried by lightning, my network card does not receives any packet from the (new) router, and I can't even loads the router's configuration page, although the router shows the laptop is connected to it (Other PCs on the network can access it as usual).

Fine. But strange is it can connect to the internet bypass the router directly through the ADSL modem, instead of going through the router and then ADSL modem any thoughts? Can I declare my laptop's network card is dead or what?

Thanks~

Have you tried a different network cable? It sounds like your router receives packets from your laptop, but your laptop doesn't want to receive anything from your router!
