Weblog Software

I've been using Wordpress but kind of tired with the look and feel and functionality.

Now, since I've got myself a new domain, I've been thinking of starting afresh and change the weblog software too in the process. And I thought of creating a thread here so that someone might benefit from the inputs as well.

I've been known (at least to me) of getting myself hyper when creating or starting something but lose steam when it comes to updating. For instance, my blog and my photo gallery.

Okok.. now, I've found many weblog software from http://www.opensourcecms.com and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog_hosting_service and have filtered out many and I'm left with the ones below.

SimplePHPBlog - http://www.simplephpblog.com/
Nucleus CMS - http://www.nucleuscms.org/
Simplelog - http://demo.opensourcecms.com/simplog/
textpattern - http://www.textpattern.com/weblog/

Any inputs or suggestion would be most welcomed.

i'm using wordpress too. hehe but don't have own domain yet. well to your problem on updating, why not add multiple users so many people can help update for you. roxor.

i almost +rep to you but then i saw what is ur number now. lol..

You can use drupal as well eventhough its a cms but it can still be made into a blog

Hmm... I want something easy to customize, no need to code much and hopefully, good support in terms of templates, plugins, etc. Does Drupal have that?

I read that Serendipity have that smarty thing where you can just have a blank template and copy and paste codes to create a fully functional template.

Yeah it does it has a ton of modules you can look at

Just wondering.. why is there 2 versions of Drupal, 4.7.* and 5.1.

I'm using serendipity for my blog. Not as widely used as the rest but the plugin system is one of the best out there

Tried these 2 before... didn't like them.
b2evolution - too cumbersome if I remember correctly
SimplePHPBlog - too... err.. simple.. LMAO

Hmm good question, i will ask the admins for you

drupal is hosted at our school, and the servers are less than 10 feet from my work place
