Exclamation No Wi-Fi?

I work somewhere that has a linksys modem. The computers they have there get internet without a problem but I tried to connect on my laptop and it couldn't even detect a network. The problem is not with my laptop as I have no problem getting a connection anywhere else.
What could the problem be?
Please help me, I am VERY confused.

Welcome to TechARP, Yoish!!!

Couple of Q's to help out...

What OS? RedHat, Windows 98, 2K, XP, Vista?

Are the other machines that "connect" wireless?

What software manages your connection(s)?

What are the settings in -> "Network Connections"?

as with most laptop, most of the distributor use thier own software to manage things such as network connections. So you might need to check which external software other than your current operating system is managing the network access. And use that to detect and connect to the network.
