I remember my housemate always download his stuff by using the WiFi connection from the shop at ground floor (we are at 2nd floor). They must be wonder why are their 1Mbps connection is so slow

I just use MAC address filtering and don't broadcast the SSID. I know it's not uber-secure, but I'll only be on wireless for another couple of weeks anyway.
Has anyone ever tried this before? Upside-Down-Ternet

That's very generous of you. However, in certain countries if someone uses your unsecured network to do something malicious, you may be held liable too. At least that's what I heard.

Not always though. I read somewhere that a man in the US was accused of downloading child porn, he said that it wasn't him because he had an unsecured network and it could have been anyone.
