Weird Problem In Maxthon

I was replying to a post in the forums on Maxthon when for some reason, Maxthon launches an insane number of IE windows loading the same page.

IE just keeps loading new instances of the same page until the desktop heap runs out. Then I cannot load anything else.

I can still post in the forums and use Maxthon. But once I close a single Maxthon tab, IE opens a new window.

And there's no way to kill IE this time because I failed to open Task Manager earlier. Yes, once IE goes crazy, I cannot even open Task Manager to kill the process.

This isn't the first time I've been hit by this problem. If I remember correctly, even killing the IE process didn't help.

The only thing to do was to close Maxthon. Then IE would stop "cloning" the same page over and over again. You can then close all the opened IE windows or just kill the IE process.

Sigh.. Anyone knows why??

Happened to me once before, but only once, so i can't really help you out cos I can't re-simulate the problem again. could be an IE or Maxthon bug.

Looks like a Maxthon problem since I don't use IE. It can only be resolved by closing Maxthon.

but you see... Maxthon is merely a shell for IE core. So depending on the problem, it could be either IE or maxthon. Using maxthon = using IE..

anyways. it's very possible the certain codes can still open IE pop-ups from Maxthon. Some ad codes have been able to do that. So, it could be a bug or some sort of pop up exploit causing that crazy IE popup loop.

Yup, I know. But I don't think I have ever had this problem using IE alone.
