The three gunmen fled in a getaway car after grabbing an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables from several customers.

Soh’s husband Piah Chia Siong, 46, rushed her to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries at the emergency ward.

Police said two of the gunmen, wearing towels on their faces, alighted from a car outside Soh’s stall at the Segambut Industrial Park about noon.

A third man remained behind the wheel.

There were about 20 customers having lunch at the stall at the time.

One of the robbers fired a warning shot while his accomplice ordered the customers to place their money and valuables on the table.

As both gunmen went from table to table to collect their victims’ valuables, Soh grabbed a pot of boiling water and splashed it on one of them.

Seeing this, his accomplice and the other gunman in the car fired several shots at her as horrified customers dived for cover.

The robbers then escaped in their getaway car.

Soh’s husband, who was washing dishes behind the stall, found his wife in a pool of blood.

Police, who arrived shortly after, found several spent bullet casings at the scene. Investigations revealed that the car was fitted with false number plates.

Police urged those with information on the robbers to call the city police Serious Crimes Division (D9) at 03-2146 0522.

this incident happened yesterday, 27th December 2005 just after Christmas..

This is where one sees the beastly side of humans!.
If they're caught perhaps everyone will be screaming for their blood and won't blame PDRM torturing them to the max!.

The reason why our police force is so efficient at cracking cases is because they don't hesitate torturing their prisoners. Unfortunately, this includes innocents that were accidentally detained for the wrong reasons.

As far as they are concerned, once you are detained, they consider you guilty until proven innocent... by various interrogation methods. Whether they are considered barbaric or not, well, I guess it's always about perception.

I mean, when the video showing the girl doing squats naked came out, everyone was screaming for civil liberties and human rights for police suspects. But when this murder case came to light, everyone started screaming for blood and actually hoped that the police will apply "great force" during interrogation of suspects.

I guess what this shows is that people here are generally reactionary and "forgetful". No wonder the government is never really worried about pissing us off. The minute something else comes along, our attention shifts and we forget what we were making noise about not so long ago.

I was truly shocked when I heard the news that the women who was shot dead was her in fact my friend's mother. I have been long didn't contact her (women's daughter). I got the news only yesterday night after her mother deceased body gone buried in the funeral. I was truly shocked & this is the 1st time hearing about the shocking attention-grabbing headlines was happening on my friend's mum. I didn't even want to believe in my own ear hearing this from a friends saying this. And with a doubt, i've made an effort to seach online to verify the validity of the news i've had heard.
To my surprise & sad, it's confirmed my friend's mum. And my friend is called Judy.
