I almost like examinations, to be honest
The alternative would probably be to base your grade on day-to-day work and/or small tests throughout the term/semester/year which I never prepare for.
Whereas with exams I know I have to get my act together.

Actually, exams itself is not so much of a test of how much you know, or how much you have learnt - it as much tests your discipline as well. If you have been disciplined enough to do constant studying (and constant does not mean 24/7 studying, but consistently put in the effort throughout the year and not just last minute cramming) you wouldn't have to worry about your exams.

ah but don't you love the feeling when you could pass the paper/exam with pretty good grades, or sometimes better, even when all year round, all you did was never attending the class or having fun reading newspapers in class when others are hard at work? LMAO

Hm... last minute is my only studying strategy, to be honest...
I just came out from my Pre-University Chemistry Exam just now and I am quite satisfied, considering I had only started studying since 7 something this morning till 11 something (while eating).
For me, last minute is the only way....
Wondering what I did last night? Watch anime and manga...

Exams mean sleepless night. Notice the 'night' without an s? Me and my friends always study last minute... unlike my friends during secondary school... those guys were crazy.

I hate exams... but it always felt good when you got good grades with last minute revision whereas those that studied all week got lower grades than you.

Still remembered that even with big project, we even did it last minute. On the last 1-2 day before the due date. That was a scary experience... didn't sleep whole night trying to finish it off, the final work was a bad one though... but we got through.

Those who excel in exams don't necessarily have good grasp of what they study in... you just need to be good in memorize the points, notes... and if there are leaked questions, memorize the answers... I was never good at that. But when the time comes... I still can pass with some grandmother stories... and shooting blanks hoping a few will get through.

Good ol' times..

Got to admit, yeah. Did that too, and loved the feeling I actually burst out laughing when I got my results for those units which I skipped classes. Actually did better in those than the papers which I actually went to class consistently for.

Then again, I did my own self study for those..
