Reputation: 3858   Rep Power: 57 |  ARP on IRC... Hi!  ARP has made an IRC channel out of the fun of it to bring our community closer together. I have suggested this channel a while back and finally set one up. It would be a nice way to have informal discussions and get to know one another. A few of the members of Team ARP are already in there as well as some forum members. I personally will be idling the channel 24/7 and hope some of you would do the same too.  We have registered #arp on Gamesurge.net as the ARP IRC channel. Please feel free to drop in and chat with us or among one another. Here is a guide to get you started up. http://www.gamesurge.net/newuser/ An IRC client is required (such as mIRC, etc) and once you have created a user account (if you so wish that is) do join us and chat with us.  For those of you who don't want to run a client, gamesurge has a java client on their site (http://www.gamesurge.net/chat/) and you could join in that way too.Some quick commands. If you have and IRC client, you can join gamesurge by pasting "irc://irc.gamesurge.net" on ur IE address bar. It should launch a new connection To join a channel: /j #arp To change nickname: /nick To authenticate user (in the status window) /authserv auth <nick> <password> Hope to see all of you soon!  EDIT: Some clients wont accept the authserv command so instead type /msg authserv@services.gamesurge.net auth <nick> <password> Other clients you can consider Xchat (This is the free compiled version) Xircon Hydra IRC Chatzilla And if you're a dork like hyper_raider  use irssi (Warning: use only if you a dork )irssi NEW!!!! We now have a bot in the channel List of Commands: !trivia To start a game of trivia! !hof To view the high scores of the trivia !weather <zipcode/city, country> For the local weather !chuck For random Chuck Norris facts. Channel protection is now activated. Settings are very lenient though. Message limit is 8lines in 3seconds (which is plenty for trivia). Bot will kick for violating that and for overly repeating messages. But again, its plenty lenient. Also most forums of channel attacks are automatically protected against (bans for serious offenses like exploits, etc.) for the safety of our users. Have fun!
