Oldtown Kopitiam, Penang

anyone been to Oldtown Kopitiam in Penang? .. its located at e-gate .. beside Tesco ..

its a "high class" kopitiam ..

first impression, hmm why so many people @ kopitiam... so one day decided to try it out ...

just as you enter the shop, no one greets you .. they dont even ask you where you wanna sit..
its like self service... hmmm .. typical kopitiam style ?

next, you'll listen to remixed song .. all with the same constant beats... OMG .. i totally hate the songs they play .. hello ? .. is this a kopitiam or disco club ?

... after ordering.. you''ll notice.. your food takes a very very long time to arrive.. in a normal kopitiam .. you could have 10 rounds of coffee & toast bread... with that amount of time taken for the food to arrive..

lastly.. food is served ... its not hot ?!?! ...

my conclusion :

if you have lots of time to spare, lots of money to spend, and dont mind getting headache from the song.. this is tha place to go ..

i'm not gonna go there again .. ahhahahah ..

one day i should try hongkie kopitiam located nearby there

Ahhh.. Too many of these "high-end" kopitiams (coffee shop)... I don't think they can ever match the real kopitiams.

I don't get people. In the past, they consider kopitiams as too "low class". Now, they don't mind paying through their noses to "experience nostalgia".

What a bunch of superficial losers.

i dun get it .. the food sux.. the song sux... the service sux... the price sux... the only thing you get better than a kopitiam is its cleanliness (but we dont know how clean are they right??)

i rather go to a local kopitiam anytime

There's a kopitiam at Dang Wangi area in KL. Yum yum, truly classic, even the cups are!

i think i went to an oldtown kopitiam also, there is one in Tebrau city in JB.. i also went to one in One-U. I don't really like the food there, its expensive but the food quality doesn't live up to the price. i like the kopi n roti bakar at jalan imbi.. is it jalan imbi?

hate sucks kopitiams..
don't have the smell, and cant hear ppl talking "hokkien"
no fun.

the cup sucks, the table sucks. and worst of all, no ah pek making tea. all the ah bengs with the stupid jay chow hair cut. PTUIK!!!!

The best kopitiams in Malaysia would have to be;

-Hai Peng Kopitiam (Kemaman, Terengganu). It's the best I've tried in my life & I also highly recommend it!

-Closer to where I live, the one nearby Wisma Imigresen (Forgot the name.). I LOVE THEIR NASI LEMAK! Woohoo!!!
