The trouble is what they preach and promise for the record has not lived up to its claims. Their sermons of power sharing and championing policies all this half century after independence has actually failed,moreover give rise to silent dissent and dissatisfaction. Its so true that few have actually benefitted (the select few).The rest get peanuts in return. The rest of the rakyat continue to slog on hard in life to obtain a better quality of life.
In reality, their current policies work against the fundamentals of equality, meritocracy and all fairness. These 3 have almost ceased to exist as long as BN policies are still in effect and practice.
Anyone voting for them only serves to endorse their continuance of current policies which give rise to unaccountability, greed, corruption and public delivery services that still are so lag. In reality again, there's hardly any avenue to demonstrate one's dissatisfaction or point out its weaknesses which they take as insult rather than fair criticsism. I hope you see the points and deny them what every Malaysian deserve more after independence. Give a chance to the opposition I say!..

Yesterday say "no dissolve" ...today?..DISSOLVED!.. bugger's a liar!. Such thing can also happen?. Trust them with your vote?.. I say NO!.

i had a very weird dream recently, although i dont remember when i had the dream as the memory is very vague. I was in a car passing some shop lots, and all those shops has the election banner hanging outside. The funny thing is that all of them are DAP supporter I wonder what it means

I have received flyers of opposition party in my housing area proposing:
- free water bill if the amount is less than RMXX
- lower petrol
- lower toll charge
- and lots more

Seems too good to be true, not sure if they can keep their promise. Wouldn't the government gets bankrapt if they does this?

Well.... what I can say is this. If ever a ruling party is TRULY clean and transparent, there's a lot of stuff that can be true. Lower toll charge, lower water bill etc. Much less tariff.

But as for Petrol, I'd always thing that it should be a free market. but prices of cars and everything to be cheaper.

Then again, that's just an opinion...

IPOH: Fong Po Kuan, dubbed cili padi because of her fiery style, has dropped a bombshell that has rocked the DAP – announcing that she is not going to contest in the general election.

The latest crisis to hit the opposition party is as a result of state party leaders trying to grab her Batu Gajah parliamentary seat.

“This crisis has been brewing for quite some time and it is unfortunate that it has exploded just before the general election,” said the insider, who is sympathetic to Fong.

Her troubles with the other party leaders started when she defeated Barisan Nasional’s candidate Datuk Ong Ka Chuan in 2004 for the Batu Gajah seat.

“After her victory, Perak DAP leaders labelled Batu Gajah as an opposition stronghold and wanted her to give way to more senior leaders,” said one source.

Announcing her decision not to contest at a press conference at the Batu Gajah DAP office, Fong said her decision was final and suggested that incumbent Pasir Pinji assemblyman Thomas Su Keong Siong contest in her place.

This, according to party insiders, was a move by Fong to prevent state party leaders from nominating DAP Youth chief Nga Kor Ming, who is Pantai Remis assemblyman, to succeed her. It is well known that Fong does not get along with Nga or the state DAP led by his cousin Ngeh Koo Ham, the incumbent Sitiawan assemblyman.

“In fact, Fong and Ngeh are not on talking terms,” said one insider, adding that there were moves to even get Fong to contest in Johor, just because she married Johor DAP organising secretary Tan Chen Choon on Jan 12.

Another insider blamed Ngeh and Nga for freezing her out of the state party, which was why she resigned from the state committee last year.

The 34-year-old Fong, who is still the party’s assistant publicity secretary and Wanita DAP national organising secretary, refused to take many questions.

“The development of internal party events in the Perak DAP over the last few years and currently, has made it impossible for me to continue serving effectively and efficiently and wholeheartedly as a party leader and an elected representative,” she said.

She said it was a tough decision for her because the DAP had become her “second family” and the people of Batu Gajah had become special to her over the last eight years.

Fong tried to keep her emotions in check throughout the press conference but her voice broke as she read out her statement, especially when she described the DAP as her second family.

“Under such circumstances, and in the best interest of all concerned, I have arrived at this unavoidable and difficult decision. My decision is final.”

She said she had conveyed her decision to DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, who is also a member of the DAP National Committee on Candidate Selection, and written a letter to party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng about the matter.

Calls to Nga, Ngeh and other Perak DAP leaders to get their comments about Fong’s decision went unanswered.

Fong, who holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the International Islamic University, first came into national prominence when she won the Batu Gajah seat in the 1999 general election with a majority of 2,071 votes. At 26 years of age, she was the youngest MP then.

IPOH: It will be easier for Barisan Nasional now that incumbent Batu Gajah MP Fong Po Kuan has opted to stay out of the contest, said Perak Barisan chief Datuk Seri Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali.

“It might be easier for our candidate who is a lady if she is not fighting against another lady.

“Barisan will be fielding a woman candidate in Batu Gajah regardless of who the opposition fields there,” he said when commenting on Fong's decision not to offer herself as the DAP candidate in this general election.

Speaking to reporters after witnessing the signing of a memorandum between the state government and Gulf Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd yesterday, Tajol Rosli said Barisan’s preparation for the elections had been geared towards facing Fong, a two-term MP.

In Ayer Tawar, Gerakan adviser Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik said Fong’s withdrawal only showed that the DAP was party-oriented and not people-oriented.

“They don’t care about the performance of their candidates in serving the people. They only think about strategies for the party.”

“I think that the strategy they had created for Fong was what angered her and caused her to pull out,” he told reporters after visiting the construction site of the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Kampung Wellington yesterday.

Dr Lim said: “Fong is not a selfish girl. She is a straight-talking politician. For me, I’ve always liked this kind of people.”

He added, however, that Fong’s decision would definitely favour the Barisan.

“You can bet your life we will make full use of it. After all, you think that if we (Barisan) had problems, they (the opposition) would not make use of it?” he said.
