Yeah, Abdullah already said he will let Najib take over. Not that he has much of a choice.

That's the problem. Najib has always been a Yes man. He probably never had an original thought in his life. So, if he's made Prime Minister, he will probably spend the first year or so thinking about what he should do.

Hmm.. Should I ask the judge to close one eye on the Altantuya case? Or should I first get myself a new shiny jet plane like Abdullah? Decisions... decisions. Oooh, it's so hard to decide!

It's disconcerting to see the "official" media and suspicious NGOs making so much noise about Malay rights, losing the country to the Chinese / Indians / both, etc. If it isn't a recipe for racial segregation and polarization, I don't know what is.

If you are one of those concerned about the "loss" of such rights, well, let Raja Petra Kamarudin put that to ease...

Quote:
On a more serious note though, there are some very alarming news coverage coming from what the Minister would call the ‘mainstream media’, which borders on rabble-rousing and sabre-rattling and would most certainly fall within the ambit of a crime under Malaysia’s Sedition Act. I have been monitoring the government-controlled media and it absolutely perturbs me that they appear unaware of the adage ‘loose lips sink ships’. And, of late, there are undoubtedly many loose lips let loose in the government-owned media.

Dear Information Minister, let us get one thing very clear which I hope you will also make clear to the government-owned media. First of all, no Malay states fell to Chinese hands on 8 March 2008 like how they are spinning it in the government-controlled media. What happened was that some Barisan Nasional-led states fell to Pakatan Rakyat, which has now formed the new state governments. Furthermore, it is not about Malays losing political power to the Chinese, also like how the government-controlled media is spinning it. It is a coalition party of Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Dayaks, etc., losing some of their states and their two-thirds majority in Parliament to another coalition of Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Dayaks, etc.

In short, some political power shifted from the left pocket to the right pocket; that’s all. Anyway, let us, for the sake of argument, go along with the government propaganda and agree that some ‘Malay states’ fell into ‘Chinese hands’ -- even though we know this is not true. Is that so wrong? Where does it say in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia that this should not be allowed? In fact, the Constitution is even silent on whether the Prime Minister must be a Malay or whether a Chinese, Indian, Kadazan, Dayak, etc., can become the Prime Minister. Let me enlighten you on the correct term to use here. It is called ‘democracy’, something that still eludes Barisan Nasional.

Umno is still the party with the most number of seats in Parliament. It got more than half the 140 seats that Barisan Nasional won. Umno’s seats are almost at par with the number of the seats the three opposition parties won combined. Umno got 78 seats while the three opposition parties combined got only 82. And only 28 of the 82 are DAP seats. The balance 31 from PKR and 23 from PAS could be considered ‘Malay’ seats seeing that these two parties are viewed as Malay-based parties (at least this is what they all say). Therefore, Umno’s 78 and PAS’s 23 would give the Malays 101 seats in Parliament. Add the PKR Malay seats to that and the ‘Malay’ seats would be more than half the 222 Parliament seats.

Aiyah, how many ‘Malay’ seats you want? More than half not enough or what? Cukuplah. Malays represent about 55% or so of this country’s population (Bumiputeras about 60%). So, if the number of ‘Malay’ Parliament seats is also about 55% then that should suffice and would be quite fair. Why must the Malays scream that they want 80% of the seats? Isn’t this not only greedy but also unfair to the balance 45% of the non-Malay population?

Umno lost only 32 seats this time around compared to the 2004 general election. When compared to the 1999 general election, the drop is only about a dozen or so. This is a very small decline. The Indians and Chinese, however, almost got wiped out. Therefore, it is not the Malays who suffered but the non-Malays. If anyone should be screaming it should be the Indians and the Chinese and not the Malays.

In 2004, Umno got 110, PAS 9 and PKR 1. That would make it 120 Malay seats out of a total of 222 Parliament seats. (We are not even including the Malay seats from Sarawak yet, which would make the number of Malay seats even higher). Therefore, the non-Malays got less than 100 seats, and even lesser when we minus the Sarawak Malay seats.

This time around, Umno got 78, PKR 31, PAS 23, and Sarawak was almost a clean sweep. This means the ‘Malay’ seats actually increased in 2008 over 2004 and 1999, which also means it was the non-Malays who suffered while the Malays gained ground.

Mister Information Minister, please explain this to all Malaysians, in particular Malays who are foaming at the mouth while shaking their keris. Yang rugi orang bukan Melayu. Orang Melayu menang lagi banyak kerusi banding dengan dulu. That is fact. That is truth. But the government-owned media is distorting this and is getting the Malays all worked up into a frenzy.

And once you do this maybe then we can meet and talk about more intelligent and matured things becoming of your status as the Minister of Information.

And here's a little inside info on how the people make use of Islam to make money...

Quote:
New Curi Duit Stories: Halal Certificates

By Little Bird

Kawan-kawan, last week there was a news report showing the new Minister for Agama, Zahid Hamidi, presiding over some meeting at the Pusat Islam. The Director of the Pusat Islam Dato' Wan Mohamad Bin Dato' Sheikh Abdul Aziz, a strong PAS supporter, was also present and looked very uncomfortable.

There was something going on at that meeting. Money was changing hands – tens of millions of Ringgit was being siphoned off. Here is the story. Jakim is a totally tiu nia mah, f**ked up Gomen organization run by muther f***ers of the lowest grade. These are the so-called religious bastards. You will guess by now that I really, really do not like these turds.

Jakim steals money from people from the sale of its tiu nia mah Halal Certificate. If you are an instant noodle manufacturer, if you are a coffee shop owner serving Muslims, if you are bakery, etc., then you will know what is this Halal Cetification is all about. It costs money. You need a Halal Certificate if you want to sell food products to Muslims. And where do you get this Halal Certificate? From these same bastards lah! It costs you money, you can bribe them, you can kau tim, etc.

Just so that our Muslim brethren can eat stuff a Halal Certification is required. It is not a law or a legal requirement but this is Malaysia. The law of the jungle applies here. This Halal Certification brings big bucks to JAKIM. No one knows the exact millions that comes into JAKIM’s (and the Gomen’s) coffers but it runs into the tens of millions. Lately the Prme Minister has been pushing to give the JAKIM bastards the sole franchise to issue these Halal Certificates. Here is an old news report:

Pemberian logo halal diselaras Semua negeri setuju arahan PM guna logo dikeluar Jakim. PUTRAJAYA: Hanya Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) boleh mengeluarkan logo halal di negara ini dan penggunaannya berkuat kuasa serta-merta.

PM Arah Semua Negeri Guna Logo Halal Jakim Sahaja. MELAKA, 7 Mac (Bernama) -- Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi hari Selasa mengarahkan semua negeri supaya menyeragamkan penggunaan tanda halal dengan menggunakan hanya logo halal yang dikeluarkan oleh Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim).

So the Idiot wants everyone to pay JAKIm for the Halal Logo. So JAKIM gets all the money. Was there are other ulterior motive?

Well, just last week Zahid Hamidi who is now Minister-in-charge of JAKIM announced that from now onwards the issuance of the Halal Logo or Halal Certification will be handed to an animal known as the Halal Industry Development Corporation or HDC. Who is this HDC?

It was a company spearheaded by the SIL to develop the Halal Hub on Pulau Indah. However, the Hub never took off. It became another landscam. Some land was bought cheaply under the camouflage of the HDC and then sold off to others at a huge profit. A person by the name of Gnanalingam who runs the West Port on Pulau Indah may know more about this matter. Westport borders the Halal Hub. It always involves land.

It is known that the SIL, his porpoise-look-alike wife and the Idiot are involved in this HDC. (Kawan-kawan a porpoise is a close cousin of the dolphin). Folks say that the SIL, his porpoise-look-alike wife and the Idiot are frequent guests of honour at HDC events. Hmm…

Here is an old news story about the HDC’s plans:

HDC to Take Lead in Halal International Certification

(14/9/2007) By Nor Baizura Basri. BANGKOK, Sept 14 (Bernama) -- Several multinational companies have asked the Halal Industry Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (HDC) to take the lead in establishing an international Halal certification scheme to pave the way for worldwide acceptance of Halal products. At dialogues with HDC, they said Malaysia should take the lead in the area of certification, "to basically provide the certification process for all the companies involved in the industry, especially in Thailand and Indonesia," HDC managing director cum chief executive officer Dato’ Jamil Bidin told Bernama.

The shareholders of HDC include the Matrade people from MITI plus interests related to SIL. So now the HDC will issue the Halal Logos and Certificates and HDC will make all the money.

But the logo will still bear the certification of the JAKIm which is a Gomen institution. So JAKIM’s name will be used but the HDC will make all the money. Lembu halal punya susu, sapi haram punya nama.

Despite losing six states the monkeys just don’t learn anything. Maybe we should just kick them all out, altogether.

Too bad the country does not appear to be ready for a non-Malay Prime Minister. Our country deserves THE BEST man/woman for the job, but right now, it looks like we are saddled with the same bunch of folks.

TBH, I never liked Anwar too much in the past. Quite wary of the stuff he did while he was Deputy PM. Have to give him credit though for finally tying together the Opposition parties. Still, I wonder if his rhetoric is mainly that - just rhetoric.

I really, really hope that his stint as a "guest" of the government under ISA changed his opinion of what's right and just... and what's wrong and evil. I hope that Little Bird is wrong... but you never know, do you? In any case, it's worth giving a thought to what Little Bird says.

Quote:
My Wife Shall Be PM

By Little Bird

Well, Anwar Ibrahim has had his coming out party. I am not a fan of the man at all. Let me state this plainly so that you may all know where I stand. It is not a sin to like a politician or to not like a politician. Please remember this simple element of freedom of speech and thought. Do grow up.

Like many other people, I know much about him from up close. When it comes to Anwar Ibrahim, many of you, particularly the Chinese and the Indians, do not really know what you are saying. This is similar to the Chinese and Indian love affair with the PAS. Listen to Karpal closely on that one.

Two nights ago, Anwar Ibrahim said that ‘If Pakatan Rakyat forms the Federal Government, Sabah will get up to 20% of royalties from oil and gas and timber, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.’

My question is: isn’t this an outright offer of money? He is simply offering money to buy over Sabah.

And we all know that in Sabah and Sarawak the cahaya matas of the leaders are the ones who sapu all the money. In fact it was Anwar who said ‘in Sarawak the children of the leaders have set up a giant company called Cahaya Mata Sarawak, as though they own the State’. He said this at the Shah’s Motel in Petaling Jaya just over two yers ago. Sudah lupa ke brader Anwar? Now he is offering the same cahaya matas 20% royalties.

Can I ask a really stupid question? How much of this 20% will go to the Penan who have already been sucked dry and are still suffering under the same cahaya matas?

But what about other states like Pahang and Johor who may also have timber, fisheries and mines? Do they also get 20%? And here is the catch: surely some formula had been derived from long ago on how much royalties should accrue to the States. Whether 5%, 10% or whatever the formula has been in practice for decades. And we have never heard of Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang or Perak asking for higher allocations. It has never been too great an issue.

But if getting 20% or 25% royalties is a real issue in Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang, Perak, etc., then the BN too can make the same offer to the States and not just to Sabah. If it is justifiable then why not? What is so fantastic about this idea?

It only becomes fantastic when the money gets into the hands of the cahaya matas in Sabah and Sarawak – the political mafia that controls everything in those two states. Where is the guarantee that the royalties will trickle down to the Penans and the Dusuns? This is just throwing money (other peoples money) to buy over the kataks.

And for what logical reason should any of the 32 or so MPs jump from the BN to the PR, if not for money? Before this Anwar refused to swear on the Quran that he had not committed any lewd acts (not that I give a hoot – he can screw anyone he wants) but can Anwar swear on the Quran now that he is not planning to induce the 32 MPs with money to become kataks? Why don’t you Anwar lovers ask him – even ever so gently? Please get a life and please open your eyes.

Then the following: ‘As to who from Pakatan Rakyat should be the Prime Minister, he said he did not see why PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail could not be the first Malaysian woman Prime Minister.’

So Anwar wants his wife to be PM. Very gallant of the husband. Here is my thesis: Anwar is not even a member of Parti Keadilan Rakyat. I don’t believe he has even joined the party. Which is why he is touted as ‘Advisor’. Anyone is free to rebut this by providing simple evidence that Anwar is a card-carrying member of the Parti Keadilan. I am willing to stand corrected but I don’t believe he has joined Parti Keadilan.

The reason is simple. UMNO will look more kindly to allowing Anwar back into the party if he had never formally joined any other party. Although Tengku Razaleigh formed Semangat 46 he was allowed to rejoin UMNO because he brought back 200,000 members with him. This is Anwar’s greatest dream too. He wants to rejoin UMNO. He has tried a few times through emissaries to meet Dr Mahathir. (Don’t believe go and ask him lah! This one I am willing to swear on the Quran, Bible, Bhagavad Ghita, etc.) He is looking to set things up such that UMNO will accept him back. This is where again Anwar has missed the boat. More of that later.

But let’s go back to his statement that he wants his wife to be the PM. Surely this means he will control the PM through the bedroom. Azizah will be a phoney PM. I can imagine Azizah the Prime Minister being asked questions and she answering ‘I must check with my husband first’. Well she will not be that obvious but that is what Anwar Ibrahim is suggesting. His wife will become a puppet PM with him pulling the strings.

Since all his supporters are waiting for Anwar to become the PM why not he just say that “after I am elected an MP and after the 32 MPs have jumped over then I, Anwar Ibrahim, will become PM.” End of matter. Whatever happened to ‘Anwar Ibrahim is the PM in waiting’ or something like that?

Then what about DAP, Kit Siang, PAS, Hadi Awang, Syed Husin Ali and gang? Have they been consulted about this ‘my wife shall be PM’ idea? PKR only has 38 Parliamentary seats. Even if the 32 BN MPs jump over, PKR will still have 38 seats – unless all the 32 join PKR – which is not likely. Anyone who jumps will likely become an independent or remain in their parties (the small Sabah parties).

So how is Azizah going to make PM with just 38 seats? Then PAS has said before that they will not accept a woman as a leader. Granted they have started to field woman candidates but that is just a sprinkling. Can PAS agree to a woman PM? What does the PAS and DAP say to Anwar’s unilateral suggestion? Arent there any suitable candidates from among the PAS for the PM’s post?

In short it was not a wise statement from a supposed to be ‘PM in waiting.’ He is not being serious. Anwar is now busy fueling the discontent inside UMNO. He sees opportunities in a weakened UMNO – not in a weakened BN.
Well, if Little Bird is right and Anwar eventually joins UMNO, then what new respect I have for him will go with the wind. Such a step will backstab everyone who supported him. It will only prove that his critics are right and that he is a leopard whose spots never change.

Our country's name gets smeared internationally again. I just hope that this will help force the government to repeal the Internal Security Act. :X

HINDRAF leader P. Wathyamoorthy is in Geneva today to address the United Nations Human Rights Commission on the plights of the Malaysian Indians who have been deprived despite being the citizens of Malaysia.

It is expected that the current BN government will implement programmes to uplift the Indian community and also to immediately release the 5 HINDRAF detainees held under the ISA in Kamunting Detention Centre who had just voiced for the concern of their community.

LOL!!! After the political tsunami which almost wiped them out, MCA has suddenly grown some balls. Suddenly, they are so outspoken, releasing multiple press releases.

Quote:
MCA Views on Class F Contractors Getting 10% of Mega Projects

The Government created Class F contractor jobs to help the Bumiputeras in the construction industry. The move by the Ministry of Works is to create more job opportunities for Class F contractors and assist them in capacity building through the development of more specialized contractors in the field of construction.

Meanwhile, MCA opposes the decision by the Minister of Works Dato Mohd Zin Monamed on setting aside 10% of the value of all Public Works Department contracts that are worth more than RM 10 million to be given to class F contractors.

While MCA supports that the government should help class F contractors to become more competitive in the industry, MCA therefore proposes the following mechanism:

a. For contracts worth less than RM200,000, 70% of the contracts should be reserved for open tender among Bumiputeras and 30% open tender to all Malaysian with 5% of margin of preference be given to Bumiputeras.

b. For contracts worth between RM200,001 to RM500,000, 70% of the contracts will be reserved for open tender among Bumiputeras and 30% open tender to all Malaysian with 4% of margin of preference be given to Bumiputeras.

c. For contracts worth between RM500,001 to RM2,000,000, 30% of the contracts will be reserved for open tender among Bumiputeras and 70% open tender to all Malaysian with 3% of margin of preference be given to Bumiputeras.

d. For contracts worth between RM2,000,001 to RM10,000,000, 30% of the contracts will be reserved for open tender among Bumiputeras and 70% open tender to all Malaysian with 2% of margin of preference be given to Bumiputras.

For contracts worth more than RM10,000,000, MCA hopes that the open tender procedure should be available to all Malaysian without restriction.

Finally, MCA urges the Ministry of Works to award projects and contracts in a fairer manner and according to the contractor’s merit and quality.
Too bad they are still too chicken to speak out against nonsense like the NEP. IMHO, why barter over 30% or 70% with 2-5% margin of preference, etc.? Government projects MUST be openly tendered with NO MARGIN of preference for anyone. Only the best person for the job should be hired to do it, no matter whether he's Malay, Chines, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, etc. Or even if he is a she. So what?

MCA, you are still outdated. WAKE UP and grow up la. Stop being racist.

Quote:
Government should renew Makkal Osai’s publishing permit

MCA Central Committee member, Sdr Wong Nai Chee today disagrees with the decision by the Home Ministry to reject the renewal of the country’s Tamil daily, Makkal Osai’s publishing permit without stating any obvious reasons.

Nai Chee said that the Home Ministry’s decision is not rational and it will paint a negative perception that the government is trying to get even with the said newspaper.

According to newspaper reports, Makkal Osai published an image deemed sensitive last year and as a penalty, their publishing permit was suspended for a month. Furthermore, during the campaigning period for the 12th General Elections, the newspaper was found carrying many Opposition related-news.

Nai Chee added that as long as newspapers reported based on facts, the Home Ministry does not have a valid reason to stop renewing the publishing permit for any newspaper. The said Ministry should at least state down the reasons clearly whether the newspaper has violated the Printing Presses and Publication Act, Sedition Act, Official Secrets Act or Internal Security Act. “Otherwise, it becomes difficult for the Government to convince the public on the reasons for not renewing the publishing permit. Furthermore, it may cause the international rating for Malaysia’s press freedom to drop.”

Nai Chee said the media plays a very important role to monitor the government and to prevent them from abusing their power, “in view of the country’s multi-racial society, we must be aware that if too much freedom is given to the press, it will give opportunities to those extremist to manipulate the situation and create racial tension.”

“Media freedom is one of the accepted universal values. Although it is a universal value, however media freedom and responsibilities are tied-in together. At the same time when you are enjoying media freedoms, you need to have a sense of responsibility to carry out the task. Newspapers act as an information tool and it must be responsible in carrying its job to set a good example to the society”, said Nai Chee.
They have YET another press statement but I'm not going to bother posting it. Just MCA crap with the really exciting title of "Government should relax press freedom to encourage the development of media"

I find it funny that MCA has to release these press statements. It is as if they are in the opposition. LOL!

Come on la.. Grow some balls and don't waste our time. You are in the ruling government of Malaysia. If that is really what you think should be done, DO IT. Why waste time telling us? JUST DO IT.

Uh-oh... Has the party swapping action begun already???

LDP Veep And 1,000 Members Quit Party

(Bernama) TAWAU, April 17 -- Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) vice-president Datuk Liew Yun Fah and 1,000 party members Thursday announced they had left the party.

Liew, the former Sabah Youth and Sports Minister, who was recently suspended from the party on allegations of sabotaging the party during the recent general election, and his supporters will join another Barisan Nasional component party.

Besides Liew, who is also Merotai LDP division chief, other leaders leaving the party are the Balung division head Raymond Sia, LDP Youth vice-chief Vun Nyuk On and former LDP vice-president Datuk Sia Hiong Lay.

With the announcement, the Merotai and Balung divisions have been dissolved as all their committee members have stepped down and quit the party.

"It's a waste of time to stay on in the LDP," Liew told reporters at his residence here Thursday.

On which party he would join, he said it had not been decided but did not rule out joining a peninsula-based party.

"I confirm having met the People's Progressive Party's deputy president," said Liew.

Other than Umno, the other peninsula-based political parties in Sabah are the MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PAS, DAP dan Parti Keadilan Rakyat.
Who's next???

Funny how the Opposition must obtain permission from the police to conduct even private events while BN-related rallies and events are allowed to proceed without "police escort" or restrictions...

Assemblyman Jimmy Wong assaulted

By Christy Chok, BORENO POST

TAWAU: Sri Tanjung Assemblyman Jimmy Wong was assaulted by one of the committee members of a motorcycle convoy when he was looking into public complaints about traffic obstruction in front of Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) yesterday.

Jimmy, who is the sole opposition Assemblyman in Sabah, said he met the organizing chairman and committee about 10am after receiving complaints from the public on the obstruction which made it difficult for them to find parking space there during office hours.

The committee asked him to have a drink first while waiting for the convoy to clear the site within half an hour, but he refused as he wishes to solve the matter immediately.

“We were still discussing the matter inside the TMC building and there were about 30 people. Suddenly, they scolded me when I was still discussing with them in a low voice,” he said.

“I told them I was there just to discuss with them the road-blocking problem faced by the public. It was unfair for the public to wait for the completion of the convoy as they suffer from parking space problem on a working day.

“After that, we carried out our discussion outside TMC. The situation became very tense until one of the committee members assaulted and punched on my chest.

They also pulled the shirt of his assistant Francis Chong.

“I was shocked but I did not run away because I am responsible to solve the problem as soon as possible,” Jimmy said.

According to him, he felt very thankful as they did no assault me seriously.

Jimmy said he will not lodge a police report even though he went to have a medical examination, as he wants the matter to end quickly.

It was learned that the event started at 8am and obstruction happened at the area of May Bank to Public Bank of Fajar.

The road was reopened to the public some 10 minutes after the alleged assault.

Jimmy said exhibitions and other public events should not be held at the area during weekdays.
He's not the first Opposition politician to be assaulted. I don't think he will be the last.
