Tibet riot on March 14, 3+1+4=8

sichuan earthquake on May 12, 5+1+2=8

According to 2008 chinese calender, May 12 2008 is actually the 8th day of the month of plum (the 4th month)

四川 (sichuan) takes 8 strokes to write

sichuan is located in the 8'o clock position of Beijing

the upcoming Beijing Olympics will start on 08/08/08 at 8:08:08pm

May 12 to Aug 08 = 88 days

I think it's really because we humans have the innate ability to spot connections and similarities, even when there are none.

It looks like it's more than coincidences, but when seen against all other comparisons that do not yield the number 8, well, then it just looks like random coincidences.
