Sorry. To me he just a selfish sob.

Well, I was no Anwar fan earlier but whether we believe in him or not, I think most people think that he's a better choice than sticking with certain demise under BN.

Of course, most of us are hoping that he has learned his lesson after being imprisoned. Like many PKRers are wont to say, just because we believed in Santa Claus when we were young, does not mean we still believe in Santa Claus. Likewise, we are all hoping that Anwar has learned NOT to believe in the old BN way of communal (read : racial) politics.

Like it or not, without Anwar, the Opposition could not have achieved such success. As unfortunate as it is, Malaysians are still not colour-blind. It will take at least 1-2 generations before we will see a non-Malay as a credible candidate for Prime Minister. Right now, only a Malay (or a half-Malay) can be a Prime Minister. In the Opposition, only Anwar is the obvious choice and everyone has to rally around him.

With that said, I personally would not hesitate to denounce him if he proves to be less the man he claims to be. As they say, talk is cheap. I want to see action, not rhetoric. We have had enough of that crap from BN.

Two ways, I think.

1. Anwar gets enough MPs to defect, with a suitable mix of Muslims and non-Muslims.
2. Abdullah Badawi calls for snap elections but the Agong denies it and chooses Anwar as the Prime Minister whom HE BELIEVES commands the respect and loyalty of the people.

He just needs 30 MPs to defect, but because he has to ensure a proper majority of Muslim MPs, many of them must come from UMNO.

BTW, Anwar already announced that they would probably not make September 16 because many of the "defecting MPs" are currently enjoying their Ramadan in Taiwan.

LOL!! He's insinuating that they were intentionally shipped to Taiwan to avoid them defecting on September 16.

Think about it. Maglev trains between cities and MASS (not the stupid Light version) rapid transits within cities. Those who have gone to HK and even Singapore will understand this when I say, with such a seamless system, who the heck needs cars?

With most people taking public transportation which will be cheap, fast and eco-friendly, this will leave our roads less congested. Win-win situation.
To get these public transportation fixed, well, you know we will have to rip out the old lines and put a new one which is darn troublesome!

But I really hope these things can be reworked in order to be something like Singapore - go and check their rail system - they are all in order and connected. Even with waiting time of +/- 1-5 mins difference.

Btw, what ever happened to 16th September, are they going to fix the gears in the parliment or have to postpone it?

Well, development (or redevelopment) is never easy. But the current system is unsustainable. Public transportation can scale much better than private vehicles and roads.

As long as they get rid of the current crop of idiots in power, it doesn't matter when. But the earlier, the better. Our economy is getting from bad to worse.
