i disagree. take for example a good game player. put him on any PC and he still can beat the crap outta you.

Haha... I don't agree. If you put him on a 14.4K modem with a Pentium 100 and me on streamyx with a Pentium4 3.04, I can beat anyone anytime.

i beg to differ.. i mean look at him during the pit-fire incident!!! didn't move a musscle... so calm i bet iceman would have melt then not because he's chicken... but probably lack of exprience

give him time.. maybe Raikonnen could be as good... but he definately still need more experience...
I thought he couldn't move? cuz I remember there is a new safety rule which requires all the drivers to wear something which is used to hold his neck or something like that..
You are refering to HANS, Head And Neck Support. The drivers can still move their head, but it's limited. Their chin cannot touch their chest, but they can still move left and right, limited motion though.

Dashken: Have you read my post? He was not in the best car of the field, except for 1995, 2001, 2002. In 1994, it was his pure skill, so is 2000, but the car was pretty good already, because of good reliability.

Benetton was not the best car, but he still can win races with it. In 1992, third best car or worse, manage to win a race. In 1994, manage to win 6-7 races in a car where his team mate can't even score podium finishes consistently, no wins. In 1996, the worst Ferrari car ever, and ugly too. Unreliable, and slow. But still manages to win a few races. 1997, Williams have the best car at the start of the season, but Ferrari managed to catch up, but even then, Eddie Irvine, has not won a race yet! MS was leading the championship! Until that controversial incident in Jerez, JV won WDC.

In 1998, Eddie Irvine still haven't win a race yet, since becoming MS's teammate! MS nearly won the WDC again, but retired in the last race due to puncture.

In 1999, Eddie Irvine only won his first ever race in Australia! MS won in the fifth race after joining Ferrari, but took Irvine 3 years! And MS broke his foot in Silverstone... so lost the championship.

In 2000, MS won 9 races, compare to his new teammate 1. In 2001, MS won 9 races also, but his teammate won a few more. 2002, 12 wins for MS, 3 wins for Rubens.

In yesterday's race, if you noticed, MS is playing with the rest of the field! At start, he pulled away, until the rain started falling for a while. Then the pit incident happened. Lost a lot of time. Behind Kimi. So to make up the lost time, he broke lap record lap after lap! Overtook Kimi, maintain a comfortable lead, and slow down again to save engine! Talk about dominance... Even Rubens struggled to past Kimi. One of his best drives.

That's what I'm saying. He has the best car. Imagine you put him into the last car on the field and Kimi Raikonen in the Ferrari. He'll not even smell the smoke of Kimi's. Trust me.

That's not going to happen, so we don't know. So, what's the point of arguing? Hehe...

Aiya... same as Kimi in Mclaren and MS in Ferrari, also not fair what. Haha... yeah, should put them both in Ferrari or Mclaren, then we can see the difference.

Hmm... I think Hakkinen should be in this race too. 3 of them in the same car, in the same race, sure will dig in a lot of crowds.

huh? isn't that clearly what i meant?

anyway, the best way to determine the better driver is to use the same slowest car.. that is.. put both shuey and any other 'competing' driver on.. let's say a BAR Honda? hehe... then race... the better driver will be able to get more out of the car... and win

How can you assume that Kimi is going to beat MS flat in the same car? What a lousy assumption... Just because you don't like MS... Kimi is a good driver no doubt, can probably match MS in the same car, but to assume that Kimi will kick MS butt?

This is what you think, because you only started watching F1 during the late 90s or even 2000, when you mention Hakkinen. During the early 90s, Hakkinen is not a very impressive driver. He only scored his first victory in Jerez 1997 after both MS and Villeneuve collide. Hakkinen is very good in a good car. But in a bad car, he doesn't seem to perform well. Just look at 2001, he lost motivation, even Coulthard started beating him again.

I have many of his videos, full races of the early 90s. MS was exactly like Kimi during his early days, and even better. Third full year in F1, WDC, one of the youngest champion, and just like Kimi, not in the best car.

they say MS will not winning had he is on honda or minardi etc.
so how did he got the ferrari drive in the first place?
because he is the best right?
and i say the best not only in terms of driving, but other criteria that make world champ. your skills alone can't make u a world champion these days right?

it's a cooperation between man and machine, and let's not forget the pit-stop team.
