Just to be clear, when you suggested changing "converter", you mean try another 2.5-to-3.5 connector, correct? I will probably have to buy another one to see.

I went back to the store and spoke to people there about this; they have some very interesting explanations on the situation. They first tested the connector I bought, and it didn't work, then they tried another one of the same type from their store, and it didn't work either. According to those folks, there's an issue with a headphone for cell phones (which usually has a 2.5 mm jack), and regular headphone for music (which usually has a 3.5 mm jack). If you look at the metal part of the head or jack, there are 2 black lines, which has something to do with mono and stereo sound. Apparently 2.5 mm heads sometimes have 3 lines, so it's a "2 in 3 chance" that the connector may work. The 2.5 mm head on my wireless bluetooth adapter has only 2 lines, so he thinks those 2 lines are not in match of the 2 lines on the connector.

As to why I could hear music sometimes by wiggling the connector, he indicated that since 1 of the 2 lines "match", then I could hear sound "sometimes" by wiggling it, but the connection is obviously faulty, because the lines don't perfectly "match".

I don't really know what he said was accurate or not, but does that make sense?

By the way, why doesn't anybody make a small compact wireless headset just to listen to music? Those headset would have a 3.5 mm jack, which fits perfectly to any microphone plug. The small compact wireless headsets all seem to be designed for cell phones, while wireless headsets for music all seem to be bulky.

Yep it makes perfect sense mono and stereo connectors are quite different and learned a lot in my near 28 years as a musician. If you have a stereo connector no matter what size your common is at the base of the plug and the left and right on the center and tip. Using a mono connector you still have the tip but the center and base are one piece. This shorts that channel to common and I think explains you prob

From what I understood, the issue was more than just a mono vs stereo issue. There's also the issue of bluetooth wireless setup that only works with cell phones but not mp3 players.

So now I guess if anybody has any suggestion about something that may achieve the function I was initially looking for.

Well, if you can hear the music sometimes by wiggling the connector, I would say it is a physical connection issue, rather than a Bluetooth problem.

I agree and moving the connector or even pulling it out slightly will remove the short allowing audio.

This is from your link and shows the problem ...

This is what you need but I don't think you will find it at Radio Shack ..

There's an interesting device. I believe the 3 lines on the metal part of the jack is what the guy was talking about. However, I need a connector that's 2.5 mm FEMALE jack to 3.5 mm MALE jack, because I have a 2.5 mm male jack that needs to come out as a 3.5 mm male jack. I searched that web site and could not find this item.
