Default Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) Issues.

Hey All,

A good morning to everyone.

Just wanted to share with you all my latest/biggest heartache. As I have written in the Technical Support forum, I have recently purchased/built a CPU which I would consider upper mid-range specs. I am using the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R (Socket 775) and if I'm not mistaken, it's a version 8 (F8).

I seem to have a major problem with the MOBO installing XP. I have even sent it back to where I purchased it to be checked and exchanged my RAM to new ones. I thought that was the end of my problem. I have very recently tried installing XP again to no luck.

I Google'd the problem and to my horror, it is quite a common thing. Me, being an amateur didn't do enough research on the board before actually purchasing it. Am I wrong to say this? I still am quite unsure of what is the problem with it. Most complaints/cause would be RAM and some other stuff that eerilly reads like my own..

New Build - GA-P35C-DS3R wont BOOT! need help!

I'm at wit's end. Without having any internet connection at home, it's tough for me to do research and tests simultaneously (I'm writing this in the office).

Anyone know/heard/read about this? Help.

Well, upon booting up, I suppose (yeah, I'm THAT ignorant) I'm required to put in my XP cd, which I did. The screen says booting from CD/DVD:

It continues with press any key.. which is followed up with error loading/installing/ from CD and it hangs. That's it. In retrospect, I think it was my XP (pirated) because I definitely remember the tech guy testing my CPU after replacing the RAM by installing an XP on it, no problemo... What say you?

Morning, Boss..

Thanks for your ears. I got my system working already. No, I didn't try to update my BIOS yet. Happens so, it was the XP. I bought a new one, installed fine. But, I still get glitches sometimes. The PC once in a while would restart on its own just after the Windows XP page. It could repeat doing so once or twice then it'll be fine. But, sometimes, it'll just boot fine. Don't know why, but, being non-tech savvy, I can live with it.

Life's good when you own legit softwar.
Does the reboot occur at any other time besides upon booting Windows XP? Stress test it for some time with Orthos/3DMark to see if it's stable.

Unless you know all about the warez scene, chances are anything you download will either not work or it'll screw something up.
