Reputation: 7 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | i agree... skip this os... hopefully, but not likely, open source os's will support next gen dvd's without all the useless annoying stuff... looks like microsoft is gonna lose some market share ( smiles gleefully) this is just like the "product activation" on the Office XP, 2003 i reinstalled windows ( not reformatting ) and the activation rejected my perfectly legal copy... and i hadn't changed my specs... got it fixed by calling microsoft ( not hard vista is/will divide the computer market into two classes, not based on performance, but on how well the hardware manufacturer sucks up to microsoft's standards... |

Even if that's 2-3X more than what the pirates are selling their discs at, I think most people will prefer to buy original DVDs at that price. Right now, they are spending more and more money on ever more restrictive measures, all of which requires them to extract more money from the consumer. Who wins in the end? Lawyers...
