just watched the documentary on Discovery Channel... sad stuff... and it's only 4 months back. i pray it doesn't happen in Malaysia...

On Thursday 7 July 2005 a series of four bomb attacks struck London's public transport system during the morning rush hour. At 8:50 a.m. (BST, UTC+1), three bombs exploded within 50 seconds of each other on three London Underground trains. A fourth bomb exploded on a bus at 9:47 a.m. in Tavistock Square. The bombings led to a severe, day-long disruption of the city's transport and mobile telecommunications infrastructure.

Fifty-six people were killed in the attacks, including the four suspected bombers, with 700 injured. The incident was the deadliest single act of terrorism in the United Kingdom since the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 (which killed 270), and the deadliest bombing in London since the Second World War.

Police investigators identified four men whom they believed to be suicide bombers. These are the first suicide bombings in Western Europe, and are thought to have been planned by Islamist paramilitary organisations based in the United Kingdom; the terrorist organization al-Qaeda claimed responsibility.

The bombings came while the UK was hosting the first full day of the 31st G8 summit, a day after London was chosen to host the 2012 Summer Olympics, two days after the beginning of the trial of fundamentalist cleric Abu Hamza, five days after the Live 8 concert was held there, and shortly after Britain had assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On 21 July 2005, a second series of four explosions took place on the London Underground and a London bus. However, this time only the detonators of the bombs exploded, and all four bombs remained undetonated. There were no fatalities: the single injury reported at the time was later revealed to be a hospitalised asthma sufferer. All suspected bombers from this failed attack have been arrested by police.

what scares me most is that the london bombers were borned and bred there... "homegrown terrorist". and with this following article, it seems that they are aware of his activities but did not do anything to stop him leading to the 7/7 bombing.

London bomber Mohammed Sidique Khan featured in a surveillance operation by intelligence services last year, a BBC investigation suggests.

Khan was secretly filmed and recorded speaking to a UK-based terror suspect, according to a well-placed source.

A Radio 4 File on 4 and BBC Two Newsnight investigation also suggests he was in contact with al-Qaeda activists for the last five years.

The Metropolitan Police declined to comment on the investigation.

A terror suspect held in connection with the 2002 Bali bombings has alleged that Khan travelled to Malaysia and the Philippines in 2001 to meet leaders of extremist Islamic group Jemaah Islamiah (JI), which is closely linked with al-Qaeda.

The BBC has interviewed academic researcher Dr Rohan Gunaratna who spoke to the Bali suspect after the London bombing.

The suspect said that, after Khan was hosted by notorious JI leader Hambali in Malaysia, he was taken to the Philippines to meet and train with other leaders of the group, suspected of carrying out a number of terror attacks including the Bali bombings of 2002 and 2005.

And in 2003, Khan met with an Islamic extremist in Pakistan who has since confessed to supplying military equipment to al-Qaeda, the BBC has learned.

The extremist, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is a US citizen from a Pakistani family from New York who travelled to Pakistan a week after the 11 September attacks.

Khan and the man also saw each other together in Leeds in 2003, the BBC understands.

"Mohammed Sidique Khan was running a strong cover with his work as a caring teaching assistant in Leeds," BBC correspondent Richard Watson said.

"But a careful study of his background and contacts reveal a number of clues to his extremism which the British intelligence apparently missed."

I think the problem they have is the amount of civil rights they have in the West. They can't just arrest any potential terrorist until they have enough proof. Usually, they only have proof when the deed is done.

Maybe they should consult our government. They are the experts at cracking down on subversive elements. Hehe..

Just look at the Sky Kingdom cult. Well, according to the government, they are a subversive cult. But we will never know cause they rammed everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink down their throats... and bulldozed the compound.

Try to do that in England or the US and you will have civil rights lawyers suing you to the next Great Depression and then some.
