Err.. No la.. Only those few files were corrupted.

In fact, once the flash drive went a bit nuts. The camera couldn't detect it. Had to format it before it could be detected properly.

The card possibly got corrupted by bad contact, but the only way to restore functionality was to format it.

Fortunately, the other pictures were alright...

My memory stick got corrupted because of bad SE firmware. I couldn't recover any single image after using quick format (MS Duo wasn't usable until I format it). Don't know, I wouldn't want to recover corrupted images anyway.

The corruption is usually cause by a corrupted FAT... not necessary where the data is. lousy and unreliable card readers can cause this by writing garbage on the FAT. This utility is very much like what we had in the past, reading through the whole disk RAW and then re-determine where each file start and end. With image files, there's a standard how the files start and end, therefore allowing such files to be 'recovered'

Definitely not the type of corruption of my memory stick. I tried to use the data recovery software, most of the data are incomplete.

You can blame the lousy SE firmware + USB cable causes the data corruption. It's a known issue. Another reason why I'm dumping SE.
