As for Khairy... He still needs his father-in-law. AFAIK, many in UMNO detest him, especially Najib. Yet, he is the only one with the ambition and drive to pull this off. Well, I think they are quietly plotting in the background trying to bring AAB down. Seems so with AAB oblivious to everything around him and someone feeding him wrong information to move their hidden agenda.

now now now, i do support the aims of hindraf, which is for equality for all races, but i disagree on the fact that they are advocating only the indians' concerns, which frankly, to me is almost the same as having umno advocating the rights of the malays. I want a non-racial based politics, and this is not the step in the right direction.

I do think that the government was absolutely wrong in how they reacted to hindraf, they have the right to voice their grouses. and now the government's claiming that there are terrorist organisations behind hindraf, personally, i think that's a load of bollocks. it's probably another excuse for them to clamp down on the leaders using the ISA. it's sad that that 'terrorist' word has been used for all the wrong reasons.

look, i'm no supporter of our government, but they surely have not committed genocide nor ethnic cleansing. if anything i believe the guy who did this letter inserted those words to make it seem as though it was some big shit, bigger than it really was.

yes, the problem of racial discrimination is serious, but we've surely not reached the proportions of mini-genocide or ethnic cleansing, and i think that we all can agree on that

Yeah, I just realized that when I read about it at Rocky Bru too. Odd, I didn't remember ethnic cleansing being added to the memorandum. I thought it was a little extreme for the use of such a phrase. Not only is it not accurate, it just gives BN their ammunition for making Hindraf look like extremists.

In fact, that's what they are doing right now. The newspapers have been posting about Hindraf being extremists and how the government will crack down on extremists. That use of the words Ethnic Cleansing is giving the government the opportunity to use ISA and other draconian laws to crack down on ALL opposition, even peaceful ones.

Bad, bad move, IMHO.

Why would the indians say that? IF reli people were to look into this case and found out that all those incident didn't happen, then who will believe hindraf next time? then when next time there really is a serious case, the UK govt wont care at all.
