The purpose of this card is to fight 4870X2, I don't think they would want to 'cripple' it any further.

Oh, definitely. I'm just wondering if they can do it without crippling the card in some way, like reducing the clock speed or using fewer stream processors. None of their previous GX2 cards ever had the GPU running at their full speeds.

That depends on how they design the PCB. If it's anything like the old 'stack-2-PCB' design, then most likely they have to reduce the clockspeed again.

If you look at the length of the current GTX260 PCB, I don't think two GPUs on a single PCB will work... The card will be damn long It will most likely be a sandwitch design again like the previous GX2.
