16 August 2011 – Epson, a world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions has launched the company’s first range of high performance LED printers that will replace its best selling entry laser printer device range.

Comprising of both monochrome and colour single function and all-in-one devices, the new printers feature a high performance LED technology that produces extremely high quality, high speed prints with the space and power savings that LED devices are renowned for. Although being LED printers, the new series will continue to use the well-established Epson “AcuLaser” brand for the foreseeable future as it has become synonymous with quality, performance and value among Epson customers; attributes the new LED printers will extend on.

The new printers provide users common class leading benefits that include:
    - Low acquisition and running costs as the printers and cartridges are affordably priced
    - High print speeds of up to 24 pages per minute (black) / 12 pages per minute (colour)
    - High buffer memory capacities of 128MB that enable better heavy workload management (Selected models)
    - Vibrant colour images and rich, well define text with Epson AcuBrite mono and colour toners
    - Compact space saving chassis designs thanks to the compact new LED print engines

    The new range consists of:

    Monochrome printer models
    - The Epson AcuLaser M1400 single function mono printer
    - The Epson AcuLaser M14 all-in-one mono printer
    - The Epson AcuLaser M14NF all-in-one mono printer with networking and fax

    Colour printer models
    - The Epson AcuLaser C1700 single function colour printer
    - The Epson AcuLaser C17NF all-in-one colour printer with networking and fax

Affordable main unit cost, low running costs – The new printers are now the most affordable models in Epson’s LED/laser printer range and feature toner cartridges that do not have PCUs, and which are also economically priced.

Low power consumption – The new printers offer the lower power consumption that LED technology is known for. In addition, Epson’s AcuBrite toners with a highly even wax distribution allows them to melt at lower temperatures, further reducing power consumption. In fact, all models in the new printer range have been Energy Star certified for their high energy efficiency.

High print speeds – The high performance LED technology empowers the printers with some of the highest print speeds among similarly priced devices of up to 24 ppm for black (AcuLaser M1400 / MX14 / MX14NF), and up to 12ppm for colour (AcuLaser C1700 / CX17NF).

Extremely high print quality – The new high performance LED technology of the new printers, combined with their use of Epson AcuBrite toners, ensures far richer and sharper black text, as well as greater vibrancy and colour image quality compared to other LED printers.

All-in-One convenience – In addition to printing, the Epson AcuLaser MX14, MX14NF and CX17NF all-in-one devices offer users the added convenience of scanning and copying abilities. In addition, the MX14NF and CX17NF feature automatic document feeders, networking and fax functionality that allows users to scan, copy or fax documents without needing to attend to the printers and share their funtionality over office networks.

Flexible cartridge capacity choices – The new printers provide users the flexibility of choosing either standard, economical toner cartridges to help low print volume users save on cartridge purchase costs; or high capacity cartridges for high print volume users to achieve lower cost per page.

Smaller, attractive-looking chassis designs and toner cartridges – The new LED print engines of the printers allows them to achieve highly compact, space saving footprints. The new toner cartridges are also much smaller compared to previous generations, allowing users to conserve storage space.
