COUGAR Introduces Extremely High-efficient and ECO-friendly Power Supply, the GX-S

COUGAR is proud to address the growing need for super-efficient power supplies with the introduction of their newest ECO-friendly power supply, the COUGAR GX-S series.

Coming in 3 variations, the GX-S series of computer power supply units offer an extremely high efficiency rate of up to 93%, and are compliant with the 80-PLUS® Gold efficiency requirement. They are made with a special rugged black coating with an attractive gold colored painted logo.

Saving Energy, Loving Earth
With the current global energy crisis, the focus is on efficiency and electronic products are facing the daunting challenge of delivering high performance, while consuming less power. The COUGAR GX-S PSU was designed from the ground up to achieve high efficiency in its power supply management. One way it achieves this is with their LLC topology design. The LLC resonant topology lowers the switching losses which boosts efficiency during power switching.

The GX-S series also has the most advanced energy-saving design to fit in with the latest Eco-Friendly EuP regulation and ErP Lot6. The power consumption less than 0.9W in PC off-mode, which can save quite a bit of energy and money and of course it supports the ENERGY STAR 5.0 rating.

Fully Compatible
The GX-S series is fully compatible with the latest PC technologies, supporting the newest specifications of ATX12V, and created for use with current and next-generation multi-core CPU platforms, supporting multi-GPU technology with support for PCI Express 2.0 next-generation graphic cards with 8(6+2)pin PCI-E connectors.

The Best Capacitors
Capacitors are one of the most crucial components in computer equipment and the COUGAR GX-S series uses the highly durable Japanese Capacitors to provide uncompromised performance and reliability.

COUGAR VORTEX FAN TECHNOLOGY
Fans are another important component and the GX-S series uses COUGAR VORTEX fan technology, COUGAR's patented design for optimum cooling efficiency & super-silent performance with COUGAR's special integrated air inlet design.

COUGAR’s VORTEX patented fan technology has a unique design where the high-vortex-airflow with turbine blade & frame can provide optimum cooling efficiency leading to a reduction of the fan speed facilitating extremely quiet running. The temperature-controlled design adapts its rotating speed to the PSU temperature. Even on its highest rotating level the fan is still quiet enough to be barely noticed.

INTEGRATED AIR INLET DESIGN
The air intake was designed to be optimal for aero-dynamics, reducing noisy air turbulence which leads to a more silent operation.

HIGH PERFORMANCE AT 40°C
One aspect of high-efficiency is being able to operate in high temperature environments. The GX-S boasts non-stop high performance and fully rated wattage at working ambient temperature of 40°C/104°F.

Dual Rail Technology
Lastly, the rails in a PSU also heavily determine the quality of a unit. The COUGAR GX-S series sports Dynamic Dual-12V rails. The automatic dynamic load distribution on the dual-12V lines provides power separately to the GPU and the CPU. If you are not using all output lines, the PSU automatically reroutes needed power from unused lines. This improves the performance of the 12V lines considerably for systems with high-end graphics cards in SLI® or CrossFire® mode and provides high voltage stability to keep components safe.

UVP (Under-voltage protection)
If the voltages fall below a certain tolerance value on the single lines, the PSU automatically switches off.

OVP (Over-voltage protection)
If the voltages increase above a certain tolerance value on the single lines, the PSU automatically switches off.

SCP (Short-circuit protection)
In the case of a short-circuit this feature prevents damage to the core components of the PSU and its system components.

OPP (Overload protection)
If the system is oversized and requires more power from the PSU than it can perform, this protection function is activated.

OCP (Over-current protection)
If the load on a single line is higher than indicated, the PSU automatically switches off.

OTP (Over-temperature protection)
If the temperature is too high, the PSU automatically switches off.
