Err weak? It has a Mobility Radeon 9700. Most notebooks in the market only come with Intel Extreme Graphics 2.

OOOH! I agree completely. The viewing angle sucks, compared to the M30's LCD. No competition there.

no need compare to M30,
it's only comparable to fujitsu celeron based low-end notebook.
worse than fujitsu's or compaq's midrange
i like toshiba qosmio's display. best ever!!!!!!! but RM9888

LOL! I'm only comparing it with the M30 since that's a notebook I'm familiar with.. and one that I actually checked the viewing angle.

Hehe.. That's the problem with better displays - they cost a bomb!

But I think good displays are worth the money you pay. IF you can afford them, that is.

Laptop displays have improved so much these few years. Imagine I had to contend with those disappointing DSTN display that came with sub RM4k+ laptops back in 1997-98.
Gee!..yet we're still complaining!!..

I guess..a viable solution would be spend another 1.5k and get a great 17" LCD and hook it to the laptop.. isn't that going to look wonderful?

I remember my brothers first laptop, great screen.

Well, for the time I guess it was decent. Just make sure to turn on the mouse trail.

If I'm not mistaken, at that time, the Extensa series were re-labeled Texas Instruments laptops, where in due course Acer merged it into their Acer range. It could have been an Acer product all along and TI could have told them, "take back your crapware and sell it yourself, we've got enough headaches of our own and no more of your crap!"

You are correct, Texas Instruments is printed on the top of that laptop. The sticker on the bottom says Acer.

That Extensa was a decent laptop back in it's day. It was actually more powerful than our desktop at the time. The battery died long ago, had to replace the hard drive (4.5GB now ), and the disk drive (external) no longer works*.

*I think that's a result of me taking it apart.

Hi guys me again.

Just wanna ask a question b4 the new year. I went to check out some prices yesterday and i think the one which really suits my specs and budget is the Acer 4002 wlmi model. But im having some trouble deciding which shop to buy from. There are a few differences in prices in some shops in Low Yatt and Imbi.

It is priced at RM4488 and i get a student rebate of RM300 in most shops but i would want an upgrade to probably 1gig or 512 ram. The upgrade prices varies between RM150-200. My question is, if i was to upgrade my ram to 1gig(if it is possible) do i get to trade in my existing ram? Or is it too much to ask for a free upgrade without the freebies they are throwing at me optical mouse+pendrive+2 dvd-rws.

Lastly, im not a one good at bargaining, what sort of freebies can i demand? Any additional advice would be much helpful! thanks again.
