Hi,

With that kind of budget, i'd suggest getting an IBM T43p. It has the ATI FireGL V3200, which is suitable for AutoCAD work and 3d modelling stuff...

It has only 15" UXGA (1600 x 1200) screen though not 17", but it's the wide-angle version..called FlexView.

The service is supposed to be pretty good..but if you're gonna pay so much..ehhe..better get good customer service

Especially the international warranty.

I know it cost around USD 2k..but in M'sia...probably can get less than RM10k (it's abit overpriced back home..the last time i checked the price)

Just my thought..
