mainly cos SE doesn't churn out new phones as fast as nokia and samsung. perhaps a 2nd hand one would be cheaper..

from my common knowledge its always best to avoid 2nd hand phones , you have completely no idea what they done to it jack off on it i mean as in dropping and stuff , and they'll start with crap like its good its 99.99% new only just maybe 10% scratches and wadever crap they know to make you buy it and make you think its worth it.. no 2nd hand man! i got bad experience from it

I don't think that's the reason. More like SE likes to control the price. It will take just 6 months to drop to 2k, maybe even earlier. Judging from my K750, in 1/2 year, it dropped from RM1800 to RM1500. It's not necessarily a bad thing, since the value of your phone last longer, if that matters to you anyway!

where did you buy your 2nd hands from? i believe if you get them at reliable phone shops it shouldn't be a problem. they usually buy them off phone users who wants to do a trade in and they fix it up right back before selling it off as a 2nd hand item. if your lucky, some might give you short warranty periods..

but then again, i agree with you it's best to avoid 2nd hand. if the price for them is not significantly large, always get a new one to be on the safe side.

motorola's depreciation rate : my E680 drop from RM2,100 to RM1,200 in around 8 months...
