Default PDA recommendations

I'm a serious noob at PDA stuffs.

My boss is asking me for recommendation for a PDA. No serious requirements, just something which supports Lotus Notes sync. Budget is below RM2000, so I guess budget is not really an issue due to the basic requirements.

So what are the good choices that I should consider?

TBH, there isn't much choice these days. On the Pocket PC side, it's mostly Dell or HP. On the Palm side, well, it's mostly just Palm.

I would recommend you the Dell Pocket PC, but I'm not sure if it supports Lotus Notes sync.

dell ppc is usually nice and cheaper than the rest. I think HP got nice hardware.

The new palms treo seems to get quite a lot good reviews.

Hardware-wise, Dell actually has the best Pocket PC in the market. I would definitely buy the Dell Pocket PC, if I can afford one.

Looks like synchronising Lotus Notes is the biggest problem now.

Indeed. I think you should check and see which platform Lotus Notes supports.

Urm.... i'd say none supports Lotus Notes Sync off the shelf. The best option right now is a PocketPC with a 3rd party Sync software, mNotes by Commontime (http://web.commontime.com/)

IBM does have a lotus notes sync solution called easy sync pro.. but according to my colleagues who use them, it sucks.

Dell's VGA AXIM is pretty good lots of people using those today. dirt cheap too.

Otherwise, Dopod has one that's not bad too. built in GPS as well, and all for less than RM2K.

Wait a minute. mNotes sounds familiar. I think my corporate software library has that! Let me check tomorrow.

Thanks for the help!
