Question Maxis Broadband

i'm gonna install broadband at my condo, and i just found out Maxis is providing broadband internet at RM98(including fixed-phone rental) per month with speeds up to 768kpbs

anyone here uses maxis? is it fast/better than streamyx?

I've heard it won't work in buildings above 6th floor. Be warned.

My friend is using one... According to him, it's definitely not faster than tmnut. However, I'm not sure whether they throttle BT traffic like tmnut or not.

It has download limit somemore

3GB per month

It doesn't matter if the download went up to 1000KB/sec, if the 3GB bandwidth limit is there.

I'm not sure too... but if you take the speed/price ratio into consideration, tmnut is still "faster" (Let's not talk about BT traffic shaping now)

I think it should be a confirmed thing, just read this page from maxis official site: http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/termncon.asp

Even if tmnut throttles BT traffic, I can still download around 35GB+ per month on a 512kbps line... but 3GB limit per month... adeh Where got enough? Some more it is combined total of download and upload limit Last month I already downloaded 37GB and uploaded 42GB of data (just for BT alone)...

Quote:
Each customer’s total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times.
