Upgrading the notebook mini pci wireless card

Alright. I've reach a point where I cannot stand the speed of a 802.11b already. LOL!

So, looking at eBay... those Atheros cards looks good, especially since I can do extra fancy stuff with it, if you know what I mean.

Anyone here has experience with it? Or should I just stick to the regular Intel one? Hmm?

Hmm.. I don't know. I think it's basically the same thing. I would be more worried about the router. Cheap routers crap out very often.

The only question is.. do you really need a faster WiFi card? If you don't actually transfer large files over WiFi, then I don't think you will notice any difference with a faster WiFi card.

when you download things you should feel the difference too

not really much difference unless u transfer files a lot. which is what I do actually since my notebook isn't connected via ethernet LAN, only WiFi.

Hmmm so it's either getting a 15 metre cable or a 54mbps card

Some people like me would rather have wires running across the room and seek for performance than having a clean room.

From the Internet? I don't think so. From the local network, yeah.. especially if you are on a university network.
