Default jerry-rigged laptop cpu fan.

ok so my laptop is really a dsktop ever since that horrible day i punched its screen...but anyways after spilling beer intot eh computer the fan stoped working,a quick probe witht eh multimeter showed no power was comming from teh bored so i cut my cellphone charger and spicled one end into my fan and spliced the charger adapter to that also,so voila my fan was fixed and i could still charge my phone when the computer was off,but alas i forgot to secure the cord and eventually teh solder broke off the fan in all 3 places so no fan.i then rigged a X86 style fan to the spot where my fan should of been so i coudl at least transfer my data to a usb drive.my question is will this fan be enough for generall use of the computer?or do i hav to go buy a new one im borke and cant afford it right now so im currently stuck useing a 333mhz beast i dug out of my attick. thanks for the help guys!
