First a 7,200 RPM hard drive to reduce waiting, then I added 512mb of RAM to make 1GB and then I overclocked the graphics card by 15% GPU and 15% RAM. It has operated quite well but I thought about replacing the processor on the laptop with a faster one, the original is a Pentium M 1.6 and I purchased a Pentium M 2.0. I installed the processor and booted up the laptop to see it load up into Windows XP Home fine, infact I'm using it now. The problem is it won't change the multiplyer from 6x so I'm running at about 600Mhz. So does anyone know of a BIOS update that will allow me to change the multiplyer like before or how I can get a modified BIOS for this laptop? If I get this to work, I'll probably put in a newer DVD burner. If I can't I'll sell it and start on a new one. Last edited by FabMan : 3rd Jun 2007 at 04:35 PM. |

Its fustrating to look at this laptop and see its only running at 600MHz when it could be running at 2000MHz. I could do with idea's of what other websites to visit or perhaps a program that can tweak/edit existing BIOS and then install that. |
