Default Windows Mobile Noob Thread

Got my hands on an old Windows mobile 5 device and thought I'd take a try on it.

Any tips on any recommended apps to install?

TCPMP
Resco File Explorer
Finger Friendly Friends
PHM RegEdit
Battery Status

Not sure it will work on WM5, it should.

SPB Diary - is absolutely wonderful for me.
eWallet - to keep my important details.

Get a bluetooth GPS for RM300 and install :
1. MapKing 2007 + malsing maps- For navigation
2. CacheMate - for Geocaching

Oh, you'd want to watch out for which ActiveSync version you install tho.
On some machines, some versions just don't work.

I find GoogleMaps to be useless unless you use GPRS or 3G.

Yup, you'll definitely need GPRS, EDGE or 3G to use GoogleMaps. But it's useful even of you don't have GPS

But GPS is all I need, unless they have traffic report, then I will consider data connections.

I think you can only upgrade if the manufacturer offers the upgrade ROM.
