I have an extra external enclosure! I will sell it to you if you want! Never used before.

Best thing is to take out the HDD and put it into your desktop. Install WinXP on it, then move it back to the laptop.

The_YongGrand , what Vaio model is it? Perhaps the manual is still available for download at Sony's website archives.

I digged all day in the Sony webpage and I found nothing of the manual book.

Fortunately yesterday night I took out the HDD. Quite easy.

But now I gotta put the whole OS installation files inside the HDD while in the desktop with the help of the USB enclosure.

oh btw it's a SOny vaio PCG-FR700 - using athlon XP-1800+.

Now I'm thinking - the drivers are ALSO nowhere to be found. Or must I use the seperate VIA chipset drivers from the VIA site since it's using that chipset?

Hey there,

Finally i got that OS loaded into the laptop - the hard way! Agh, so much for doing that without the DVD-ROM!

I got it connected to the net through the wireless too, and it's great.

However, I have one small issue here.

Everytime I enter that particular forum (low yat net) the whole connection will go dead, with the wireless signal intact, and I have to repair it to make the connection to go normal.

Other than that particular site, it's fine and running okay. But when I enter the forum again, it started doing that.

what could it be?

Strange... my firefox only did that when I entered the site.

But when I used IE, it's running like usual!

That got to be the most strange peculiar thing in my life!!

Sounds like the forum itself to me what program are they using for it ... VB, PHP, IPB ?

Some programs or versions of programs don't support FF 100 percent or require plugins to make the browser work with it. These changes are sometimes in your browser or sometimes on the forum itself

Even your laptop knows which site to visit! Just kidding.
