need help on OCing my S64 rig

hi guys.

i've recently entered the 64bit arena with S754 Sempron 2800+, ABIT NV8 and blablablablablbalbal

ok anyways, here's what i need help on

here is what i see on some guy's OC of his proc on NV8

on my side, when i CPU-Z i only see my ram divider as CPU/10 instead of CPU/12 like what that guy has.

now how do i get it to 12? i've read the manual, looks like divider setting part is only the section where it let me set my RAM timings and such.

if i choose AUTO - all works fine. same goes to MANUAL. however if i go MANUAL and choose DDR400 : my machine won't boot.

i have 2x 512mb DD400 KVR BT-D43.

i'm at a lost. i wish to at least reach 300FSB .... if possible.

Technically, your Sempron is not 64bit, right? Unless it's the 64bit enabled version...

You didn't mention about the overclocking of your CPU. You need to state everything in order for us to help you.

hehe. i'm just wanting to know how to set the dividers.

anyway it's the 64bit version.

default is at 8x200. i've managed to get it to 8x250 stable. 8x275 is not so stable on games though.

no matter how i set, the divider is CPU/10.

That means the divider is set to SPD. If you want CPU/12, you need to set to memory speed of slower than 400MHz like 333MHz. The 400MHz is actually the ratio of 1:1, so when you set to 400MHz, the actual divider is CPU/8! I doubt your D43 can take that...

D43 usually goes up to 250fsb .. above that is tough

yes, i thought about the DDR400 being 1:1

however it doesn't make sense that even at default speed (8x200) i can't set it to 1:1.

Are you sure it's not due to memory timings when it's set to manual?

here's my memory setting test result

AUTO - pass
MANUAL - speed AUTO - pass
MANUAL - DDR400 - fail
MANUAL - DDR333 - pass
MANUAL - DDR266 - fail (no, there's no DDR300 option)
BY SPD - DDR400 (this option will select based on the RAM's rated speed) - fail

when i boot my machine, it will show DDR333 on POST but after i enter windows, CPU-Z says my RAM is at 200mhz.

No no, I'm talking about memory timings like CAS Latency, at they set to the correct timings? 3-4-4-8?

i've not done those.

was thinking setting everything to AUTO would work fine on DDR400 (ram default speed).
