i wonder where'd he get that "49" from..

my reported temp by uGuru software is 51~53C;
that little software tells me 64~67C
that's a big diff, but still lower than the max 70C allowed..

but why didnt AMD make any software to utilize the temp sensor in the core?

But they might not be calibrated properly, so it doesn't show the actual temperature.

i will still rely on my mobo temp reading..
not gonna trust that beta software...

I downloaded it yesterday... I liked it... I have an ABIT mobo and I don't trust it.. sometimes it shows me that my CPU temp is at 75-80°C and then it starts beeping and shuts the pc down.. arg

isit...?

i did a test on my own.. aft prime95-ing for 15min, i touch the heatsink's metal part which is directly above (closest to) the cpu core..

it doesnt feels >50C to me & the mobo reading tells me 44~46C, but then the software tell me 56~58C!!

i don't know what's wrong... sometimes it used to show it was running at 75°C and it started beeping... I was using Abit EQ... when I saw this I turned off the comp and removed the CPU, replaced the thermalpaste thinking it was it, but to no avail, turned it on and bam... 75°C.. then all of a sudden, it booted and worked showing 45-55°C..

anyway, abit's EQ was on something like 40°C yesterday, and the program here showed me 45°C... dunno which one to trust

Your CPU core will definitely be hotter than the hottest part of your heatsink, no matter how good your thermal paste and mounting...
