Somehow the sequel doesn't have the magic that Doom 1 and 2 has. The weapons, BGM, sound effects were legendary back in the days...
Yup, I played the first doom shareware version. there's no such thing as shareware games anymore. Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
I don't have a picture, since there was no digital camera back then. I can't remember what card it was, but I remembered it was vesa local bus based, at that time, video card's purpose was just displaying to monitor, no 2d or 3d acceleration. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I played the Doom shareware too in '96! I had a 486DX-33, a VESA Local Bus graphic card (Avance Logic), 4MB RAM, 325mb HDD. Right now I still hoard a S3 Virge and Trio PCI cards. These were the stuff back then. Love those retro stuff!
Talking about Doom, I have a collection bought from Steam at a mere price of $8. I still play the older Doom 1 and 2 for the fun of it. I didn't use the Dosbox, I used the Zandronum instead as it has full mouse support and higher resolution. Check it out!
lol, I remember the time I overclocked my 486DX2-50 to 66 to get the best performance out of Doom ][. Also at the time shotguns rocked, as long as you connected an external hifi system to the sound card and cranked up the bass.
My all time favorite gun! I thought the Doom shot gun was good, until Doom 2's super shot gun... Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
Back in the day, most people were still playing with keyboard only, so the mouse+keyboard warriors would dodge the hell up to their opponent's face and give them a full blast with the super shotgun
Just got the game (PS4 version) on Saturday. Wanted to preorder it, but I prefer to see the reviews before I purchase the game. Verdict: A very solid good game. Plays well and feels like the older Doom series with a modern feel. Even have many references to the older Doom series, if you can find them! Only bad point: blurry textures on PS4 version. Not sure if it happens on XB1.
