planning on buying a new RAM? advise needed - Page 2

Nope, it will not affect but actually increase the performance, since you'll have more RAM and it's running faster. Just make sure you don't mix your 128MB PC2100 with your 512MB PC3200 coz both will be running on PC2100 in that case AFAIK.

i noe wat to buy now..
btw..if its running both at pc3200 performance will improve but now the only problem i am now worried about is whether or not my motherboard can take it.

chipset Intel i845D
southbridge Intel 82801BA (ICH2)

will this information help? this is d only stuff i can dig out from a application i used to check my hardwares

Even if your motherboard cannot support the full speed of PC3200, the RAM will just downclock itself. No need to worry
