Exclamation Changing the chipset settings

I have a intel p4 and recently i had installed additional ram The first module is a 256MB PC 3200 -DDR 400 and the second module is of 256MB PC 2100 - DDR 266 now since the the rams are of different frequencies i believe a change in the BIOS settings is required. Therefore i need help with changing the chipset settings .The current settings are as follows:

BIOS version BF86510A.

System Bus Speed :266mhz
L2 cache RAM: 1mb
memory mode :single channel

Under Chipset configuration

PCI latency timer :32

SDRAM frequency= Auto
CPC override= Auto
SDRAM timing Control=auto
SDRAM RAS act to pre=7
SDRAM CAS# latency=2.5
SDRAM RAS# to CAS delay = 4
SDRAM RAS# precharge = 4

now i believe that the chipset settings are to be changed so as to enable a dual channel and hence allow both the rams to function without problems .Hence i need to know wat are the changes to be done in this section ...
thank you

What motherboard do you have, producer-model? That way we can find out what kind of memory supports.

I have always thought that you needed identical memory modules (in pairs) to take advantage of dual channel capability. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

On the other side, I have usually found that on modern bioses, auto settings for memory are good enough (except when you are an overclocker).

You can run different ram sticks with no problem. But you have to run it at the slowest speed (in this case DDR266) as well as the loosest ramtimings (according to SPD timings.)
