Conclusion: Waste of money, waste of silicon, waste of power. Those softwares tested are actually optimised for quad core. Any games in there? :haha:

Dual core is more than enough for average users. Even too much sometimes IMO.

cant believe @the rate intel's media *****es is increasing. Preview!? heh..if u have the guts, do la something like what THG did (not that I like THG or anything)

Suddenly many cores lol. The world seems to be going the way of Instruction windowless buggers with 0 derived Instruction Level Parallelism like the IBM Toshiba Cell and the Xbox Xenon, where the programmer and not the chip designer get's the short end of the stick lol. This just some assed up conspiracy by chip makers to make their lives easier and burden underfed and underpaid programmers, whom slave away creating individual process and instruction threads to maximize performance or they lose their jobs.........wait, i'm not a programmer.........WOHOO!!

Anyways, i think a quadcore is fine too. Just like people said before dual core came along "WTF are you gonna do with 2 cores? Watch Porn and Play MMOs at the same time?", the point is, if there's no use for it, we'll find one.

2 Cores of F@H and 2 on my games seems like a nice thing to look forward to. I'm sold LOL.

That's the ONLY reason for me to get dual core...

Quad-cores? They haven't actually make software that is fully designed for these yet.

Software for the quad-cores. Or maybe they have invented a couple of them for the sake of benchmarks only. Uh... like these calculation programs?

We just saw a demo of the Kentsfield at Intel's office. Only an improvement of 58% over the Core 2 Duo running at the same speed.

If you absolutely must have the fastest thing you can buy, well, there's no stopping you. But as far as performance per dollar is concerned, the Kentsfield ain't the best buck for your money. :D

The only game currently that is optimised for the Quad-Core is the Alan Wake game. The graphics are truly stunning, and majestic!! :D

5 years down the road, intel will probably need to do another campaign and training courses for their resellers saying more core != faster performance :haha:

now they are saying speed is no longer an indication of performance, and they are just "partly" to be blamed for this "confusion" :haha:

sorry im not ur *****. more core != more performance.

    Hahahahaha! I was like...hmm...hmm...

I like Core 2 Duo not because it has cores cores and more cores!!!

htye are getting bad feedback from the resellers i guess.

they need a quick fix, and obviously "more cores = faster" is the most sensible solution for them. and if it works, I think the consumer will still pick the Pentium D, instead of C2D, over Pentium 4 cuz first, it's cheaper (we are malaysian mah..), and second, it has 2 cores TOO!

For us technical people, we know very well that architecture is far more important than number of cores, which is why I actually highlighted about promoting the "Core" brand name.
