Default the best choice for oc? c2d

which one is the better choice - price/performance/oc ?


CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1800 MHz Socket LGA775 2048K bus 800 0,065u BOX Dual CORE ( Intel EM64T )
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 2000 MHz Socket LGA775 2048K bus 800 0,065u BOX Dual CORE ( Intel EM64T )
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1866 MHz Socket LGA775 2048K bus 1066 0,065u BOX Dual CORE ( Intel EM64T, VT )
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 1866 MHz Socket LGA775 4096K bus 1066 0,065u BOX Dual CORE ( Intel EM64T, VT )

I've heard that E4400 is a very good choice ...is it true?

if u want E4300, make sure you have a very capable motherboard.

Not high-end, but capable, like the gigabyte 965

Not necessary for low multipliers. NB Strap is only a problem around 360-400MHz FSB.

arguably true that on generally mid level motherboards (DS3 and P5b comes to mind), for enthusiast boards, I'm beginning to see a trand whereby NB straps can be set, and latency's internally would be adjusted slightly to compensate. Which is why mine runs at a strap of 1066. P5B if at those speeds would be running at 1333Mhz straps and in turn losing out on thoroughput bandwidth. Tony OCZ and FCG have documented this before on their website

personally i like the E4300. cheap. i like all processors that are cheap.
