Bios dont work

Have compaq armada e500 model pp2060, with windows NT . I wanet to instal XP, and cant.So upgrade the bios with sp20947.exe
and the laptop hangs, dont wakeup. Anybody know what to do?

Hi, what do you mean by you can't install Windows XP?

Why don't you start from the beginning by listing down your notebook's specifications.

Then tell us what you did. Thanks!

I guess he's talking 'bout ACPI, cuz it's a rather old notebook.

Next time, before you rush into a BIOS-update, you
should:

-> check if your sys is ACPI-compatible and if it's
just turned off in the settings
-> press F6 while XP-setup is booting (when it asks you
to press F5 for additional controllers) and select the
system from the list.

Not waking up = doin' nothing or just no screen?

I agree with the others do you get bluescreen or blackscreen ?

On not waking up I am confused as well can you post back to clarify
