Stress Test for CPU

Hi everyone, I was listening to NPR years back, and I heard there was a test that mimics DNA sequencing, its supposed to beat the piss out of CPU's , There was a race involved and the computer to
win first place was awarded. or finish first. Does anyone know where I can find such a program?

Never heard of it before... The only one I'm aware of with reward is prime95

SP2004 or prime95 both works to stress your cpu and ram, however i dont know of any program that mimics DNA sequencing

Maybe he was referring to the "StressCPU - stress CPU with Gromacs core" in Prime95?

I usually suggest using "Small FFTs" to stress your CPU. It has worked well for me

Hmm, the closest thing to "mimics DNA sequencing" should be the Folding@Home's protein folding..

Plus you get bonus points if you are the first to finish a certain WU I believe. That might be the reward he was talking about
