Default Any danger if i put on an unsupported CPU?

as topic, any danger if i put on an unsupported CPU on my mobo
,helping a fren to test his CPU.

i own a p4s533-e mobo , the box says that it support up to 2.53
my fren owns a 2.8 cpu,

btw i found a website
CPU-Upgrade: ASUS P4S533-E cpu support and features
can be reliable?

The box is the last place you should read for CPU support list. I would trust the website with full confidence. Make sure it's the right motherboard with the right version.

Yup. Always check the motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest list of supported CPUs.

However, make sure you update the BIOS to support the new CPUs!

And it shouldn't be 'dangerous' to put an unsupported processor into the processor socket of the motherboard. Two things might happen:

a) the processor doesn't fit;
b) if it fits, the system will not post

probably 2.8Ghz did not exist when your motherboard just came out

you will need bios 1006 at least to detect it properly.
