Boot Issue gigabyte ga-965p-ds3 rev 1.0

my computer currently has :
thermaltake tr2-500 power supply
ga-965p-ds3 motherboard bios ver f3
intel 2.4 ghz e6600
2 sticks of 1 gig corsair value select 667 2ddr
asus 7950gt video card
segate 500 gig sata
dvd burner ide
opsys winxp

i recently had a virus that req a reinstall of win xp
my system would not boot from cd rom which is connected
with ide cable it is the first boot device in bios
at the time i had a wd 250 gig sata drive installed
since it wouldnt boot from cd i put a 2nd wd 250gig sata drive in system to install xp to second drive using 1st drive to boot cpu
when i added 2nd drive both drive fried and will not cycle up power is dead bios would not detect them

purchased a segate 500g sata drive installed it
and my cd rom started to boot so i install xp to seagate
but now i have intermit boot issues sometimes hard drive boots up some times gets err that cant find opsys to insert a disk sometimes i have to goto bios and tell it to redetect hard drive before it will boot
any ideas what would cause the intermit booting issue ?

PS i am not overclocking anything just standard settings
and i am not using ahci

Wow.. That is really weird. Is the motherboard BIOS fully updated?

no it is not im going to upgrade to bios f11 this weekend
