Hmm.. When you remounted the processor, did you reapply the thermal paste and properly mount the cooler?

Yes it also happend it takes a long time like 3 to 5 minutes with the 600Mhz Processor but with the 800Mhz Pro. it restarts unexpectedly and the model of the Motherboard is this (look at the attachment)

Still sounds like a chipset or ram issue

On the Mobo looks like its made by MSI I googled "motherboard 686a-6a6llf09c" you may try as well. I dont have time to go through this tonight but look through yourself you may find a manual for it.

HP Pavilion/Brio/Vectra/Presario information

Thanks now i have a BIOS update for that. I've just downloaded from HP
