Default System not identifying processor.

This is a computer scrapped together from parts. The processor came off a different MoBo, but seems to work. Written on the processor is AXDA2800DKV4D, which if im reading the model number correctly, should perform at around 2ghz. The system says "Unknown CPU" and reports it at 1.6ghz. I am guessing that this is an issue with an outdated BIOS. Can someone tell me if my assumptions are correct, and can this be fixed. I have spent time looking for an updated BIOS, I am however not sure on which to use, and with what flash software.

It's definitely not being identified because the BIOS doesn't recognize it. You will need to update the BIOS.

Just go to ~Welcome to First International Computer, Inc.~ and download the latest BIOS for the AM37 motherboard. You should be able to find the latest BIOS flash utility there as well.

If you need a guide on updating the motherboard BIOS, take a look at Tech ARP - Motherboard BIOS Flashing Guide

you need a bios update.
i've check the FIC website, you wont find it there, you will have to FTP their site.

here's the direct link : ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/bios/socketa/am37/

apparently you will need VLB43 & above to support athlon 2700+ & 2800+

Default Thank you both.

I appreciate your time. I could not find it on the site itself, and your link to the FTP server made things much easier. Before your reply's I found one elsewhere, but apparently not the most current bios, as I still have the same problem. Will be trying the newest one tonight. Thanks a lot.
