Default Q9450 or X3350 on a DFI LT P35-TR2 anyone?

Anyone running either a Q9450 or X3350 on the DFI LT P35-TR2, if so which BIOS are you using and are you experiencing any problems? There is no official support for these CPUs, but I have read about peeps using them on the newer version of this board (the X48 version) just fine.

Thanks!

stick with Q9450.

while both chips feature the same microachitecture, the pre-fetch/cache system of the xeon is optimised for server application.

Never heard that before... my understanding is that the xeons are in general "high binned" i.e. run at lower vcores than the consumer grade chips. That said, I haven't seen a difference in performance (at least as measured by x264) of the two.

They are both the same chip; actually, some of the folks online who bought this argue that they are slightly better in that they are high binned.

Personaly I would go the X3350, but only because I saw it cheaper then the Q9450, and in the past I ave found it is usualy easier to get stock of Xeons then good overclocking consumer chips.

Q9450 or X3350 are basically the same, only the name differs so you can stick with either one of them

Anyway, you can't just switch from one to the other. Different sockets.

Intel Xeon X3350 Quad Core Processor
LGA 775 socket T

Exactly the same socket on the Q9450 and BOTH have multipliers locked
