Hmm, is it me or actually only AMD has cheaper unlock multiplier processors I think like most replies here..only the X(for dual core) and QX (quad core) series processor of Intel has unlock multiplier

I haven't found a way but there must be. There are extreme series CPU's similar to the others in almost every aspect except unlocked multiplier. This is not in the die its in the firmware

Generally, if you buy retail PCs, they will not give you an ES processor. ES processors will not come with any warranty paperwork.

Well, except for the QX and X series, all Core 2 processors are hard-locked. AFAIK, you cannot unlock them...
